Art Access Gallery serves as an access point through which emerging artists, artists with disabilities, and others with limited access to the arts can enter and thrive in the local arts community. They do so by exhibiting their own artwork with that of more-established Utah artists and by taking part in professional development activities. In doing so, Art Access Gallery celebrates and cultivates the talents of diverse artists while educating the community to understand the artistic talents of Utahns of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities.year Art Access curates exhibits from emerging and established artists.

Mission Statement

Art Access provides equal opportunities to inclusive arts programs for Utahns with disabilities and those with limited access to the arts.

Promoting art for everyone, Art Access galleries display stimulating art in an inclusive setting by artists from all backgrounds and with all points-of-view. Art access has two galleries available for exhibits: the main gallery for larger exhibits; and Access II, a smaller display space.

Proposal Requirements and Application

The online application process will open on April 25, 2016 and close July 1, 2016 at midnight. Separate forms will be available for group and individual exhibits. Accepted exhibits will be scheduled for calendar year 2017. Please use our online application HERE.

Art Access accepts exhibits that have a strong theme and a cohesive presentation (rather than a collection of the artist’s work). We are particularly interested in themes that address our commitment to telling the stories of all of us, especially those from disenfranchised populations. A free application workshop will be held at Art Access on Saturday, June 4th from 10:00 – 11:00 AM. The workshop is not required but highly recommended. 

Exhibition Selection

The Art Access gallery committee will meet in late July to select exhibitions for the 2017 calendar year. Quality of work, balance of mediums submitted for the year, and strength and clarity of the proposal will all be considered. Notification of acceptance will be made by early August.


Exhibition work does not have to be sold, but Art Access does require a 30% commission on all sales completed. Art Access is a member of the Salt Lake Gallery Association and participates in the Salt Lake Gallery Strolls, held the third Friday of each month, as well as having regular weekday hours for display and sales.
