Mission Statement Art Access/VSA Utah provides equal opportunities to inclusive arts programs for Utahns with disabilities and those with limited access to the arts.
Promoting art for everyone, Art Access galleries display stimulating art in an inclusive setting by artists from all backgrounds and with all points-of-view. Art access has two galleries available for exhibits: the main gallery for larger exhibits; and Access II, a smaller display space.
Eligibility
Art Access Gallery welcomes exhibit proposals from emerging and established artists, artists with and without disabilities, and artists representing other underserved communities. We focus on Utah artists and ask that artwork intended for exhibit at Art Access be new and not have been shown at other venues. Work in any medium is accepted.
Proposal Requirements
See application form. (If you have Adobe Acrobat, you may download this form and save it to your computer as you work on it. Otherwise, you may download the file, fill it out completely, and then print it. Because you will be unable to save this form as you make changes, we suggest you type your text in a Word document and then copy it to the application for printing.)
Deadline
All proposals and CD images must be postmarked or hand-delivered by July 1, 2010 to: Art Access, 230 South 500 West, #125, Salt Lake City, Utah, 84101. Please enclose a self-addressed, stamped envelope for the return of your CD. CDs will not be returned without this envelope.
Exhibition Selection
The Art Access Gallery Committee will meet to select exhibitions for the 2011 gallery schedule. Quality of work, evidence of ability to produce proposed exhibit, balance of mediums submitted for season, and completion and clarity of the proposal will all be considered. Notification of acceptance will be made by mid-August.
Sales
Exhibition work does not have to be sold, but Art Access does require a 30% commission on all sales completed. Art Access is a member of the Salt Lake Gallery Association and participates in the Salt Lake Gallery Strolls, held the third Friday of each month, as well as having regular weekday hours for display and sales.
