Studio E: The Epilepsy Art Therapy Program

Epilepsy Foundation of Utah and Art Access are excited to bring you the opportunity to express yourself through art as part of a multi-week art therapy program. You’ll work with a licenses art therapist and other people with epilepsy in a group setting to create art pieces using visual art mediums. Strengthen your artistic voice and learn from others in an open, welcoming environment!

Studio E is open to artists of all talent levels, whether you are a professional artist of have never held a paint brush.

You’ll work with art therapist Ida Yoked (MA, ATR) and other people with epilepsy in a group setting to create art pieces using visual art mediums. Strengthen your artistic voice and learn from others in an open, welcoming environment!

Ida Yoked is one of the founders and the director of Expressive Therapies Utah. Ida is a board-certified Art Therapist, artist and photographer. Mrs. Yoked received her Masters degree in Art therapy from Pratt Institute and the School of Visual Arts NYC. Before opening ETU, Ida worked extensively in the mental health systems of New York City and New Jersey, mainly with mental illness and chemical addiction. She has served as the Director of the Creative Art therapies at Post Graduate Center for Mental Health in NYC , as well as director of Project Us (a consumer operated psychosocial club House Program). In addition, she has worked in inpatient and outpatient settings. Developing a multi modality approach to treatment with aphasia and stoke survivors she works with all ages providing individual, group, couple and family therapy

CHILDREN'S ART THERAPY SUMMER CAMP 

Dates: Daily, August 2-4 and 9-11, 2016STUDIO E KIDS 97
Time: 10 am to Noon
Admission: Free with advanced registration. Class size is limited to 10 participants. Please note that this program is exclusively designed for children (ages 6 to 12) living with epilepsy.*

Epilepsy Foundation of Utah and Art Access are excited to bring you the opportunity for your child to express his or her self through art. Your child will work with Jill Johnson (MAAT) and other children with epilepsy in a group setting to explore their creative expression. Strengthen your child's voice through art therapy in an open, welcoming environment! An epilepsy nurse specialist and a licensed therapist, as well as other qualified adults, will be present for the duration of the camp.

*Art Access serves a diverse clientele. Chronological and cognitive ages are taken into consideration upon registration of any participant, as well as individual adaptive needs. Please specify any special needs that your child may have at the time of registration.

Studio E is a an art therapy program open to people with epilepsy in 30 U.S. cities, where participants are given the opportunity to creatively express themselves and their emotions. Living with epilepsy can be challenging and art therapy may be beneficial in working through how the condition impacts an individual's life.
